{ How to turn a boring apartment into a fun living space! }

When Cody and I moved into our apartment I was super excited to start decorating. I had a vision in my head and knew exactly what we both wanted our home to look like. We had my dad help us out by painting the walls a light grey color, something very neutral to make sure our decor doesn't ever clash. We spend most of the time that we are at home in our living room, so this was my main focus on making sure it is fun, colorful, and will put us in a good mood every time we walk in the house. We incorporated our personalities in our decor as well as inspirations from places we have traveled to. As you can see in the pictures below, our living room space isn't very large but I tried to make the most of it without over cluttering. Isn't it crazy to see what a difference curtains can make alone?!?

We bought our small sectional from IKEA. I love shopping there for furniture because it is inexpensive so when we move in the future we won't feel bad about replacing our furniture if we choose to. This sectional is great because it actually pulls out into a bed! Even though we never really have people staying over the night, we pull the couch out quite a bit when we're sitting watching movies and want to get super comfy. Most of the furniture and decorations you see in my pictures are either from IKEA or my favorite store ever, Target.

Empty walls are sad walls, so I wanted to do a small gallery above the couch. I chose to do some fun abstract items like a gold wire heart from Hobby Lobby, a little decorative mirror also from Hobby Lobby and some cute paintings that make you smile when you look at them!

I loved adding pops of colors with our throw pillows, blankets and a yellow chair from IKEA. I mixed metals a little bit because I like to live life on the edge haha. I got some silvers, golds, and rose gold tones throughout the living room space. These accents made the room feel and look a little more expensive, while I got everything for this room on a budget. Another place I got a ton of decor from was HomeGoods. They have so many cute things and they get new stuff daily. The prices are always great and sometimes you can score designer stuff for the low! I hope this post inspires you on how you can revamp up your own space without spending tons of money! I am a total bargain shopper especially when it comes to home decor because I love to change it up frequently.

I made it my goal to make the most out of our apartment until we are ready to move into our dream home eventually. But for now, our home makes me happy and we feel extremely blessed to have a place to call home.
