{ A beauty & fashion guide to New Years Eve }

new years eve fashion and beauty guide

There’s just a few more days left of 2018 and that gets me thinking about all the past years Cody and I have dressed up and gone out to ring in the new year. I'm not sure what we are doing yet but I’m definitely loving all of the sparkle and glitter I’m starting to see everywhere. To be honest I’ll probably be home in my pjs (just the way I like it) but for all of you who aren’t homebodies like me, here’s a beauty and fashion inspo guide that maybe will help you with your “ I have nothing to wear” dilemma.

P.S. I realized I found a lot of great options from Express and almost everything is on sale right now! You’re welcome ;)

Outfits that shine

Glow baby, glow

So you guys can probably tell I’m no bronze goddess by nature. I’m actually quite pale and it is extremely tough to find a self tanner than wont turn too orange on me or come out all sorts of patchy. I found the perfect one recently by Golden Star Beauty and I have to say I am supppperrr impressed. You guys, this stuff makes me look like I just vacationed in the Bahamas. I will definitely make another post of this and give you guys a more in depth review soon! I think that a tan is a must have to complete that New Years look. Of course then you have to top off the tan look with your favorite highlighter. Brush it on all over your collarbone and your shoulders for a gorgeous sun kissed glow. Anytime I wear a halter style top I love to add highlight to my shoulders, it just makes them look so good!

not your ordinary smokey eye

So everyone always assumes a smokey eye has to be blacks and grey and super intense, but I’m here to tell you it does not have to be! You can create a smokey eye look with just about any color you desire. My go to for New Years usually is a deep purple in the crease and a gold or silver shimmer on the lid.  I love to have fun with my NYE makeup looks and the eyes are my favorite thing to play up. Once you decide on your outfit picking out your eye look is a lot easier. For example if you do an all black outfit you can do a beautiful mauve shade in the crease and a lighter silver or gold shimmer all over your lid. If you choose a red outfit, well maybe you can do a subtle silver/grey lid color with a dark cut crease!  Makeup is supposed to be fun and what better time to go all out with it than NYE!??

Let down your hair

Okay, so you don’t actually have to let down your hair, you can totally do a cute messy updo especially if you have an off the shoulder style dress/ top. I also think a messy updo would look awesome with a halter neck jumpsuit (just an idea). Another style I love is a side swept hair look. Some old Hollywod glam curls would be so gorgeous especially paired with a bright red lip and black sequins pants oh and a cute bodysuit of course, they are my go to!
